EMC Events -Marmora - Shane Cox has been racing sled dogs for approximately 15 years, running in many 20-to 80-mile races all over Ontario. He raced in Vermont in 2003 and Fort Kent, Maine, in 2009. He will be participating in the ten-dog 60-mile event in Marmora on February 4, then the following weekend will compete in Kearney in the two-day 80-mile race. After that, it's off to Bancroft for the 50-mile race, then hopefully to Newboro for a six-dog 25-mile race. When not running dogs Cox is a brusher for Hydro One and is a volunteer with the Marmora and Lake Fire Department as well. With help from his wife, daughter and in-laws, he feels this may just shape up to be a great season.
