Angela Runciman, past secretary treasurer and current homecraft president, told guests at the annual general meeting of the Campbellford Seymour Agricultural Society that a cookbook will be put together to sell at this year's fair after a 12-year hiatus.
"We thought the time was right with the addition of several new members and the approach of our 160th anniversary that we do another one," said Angela Runciman, division president.
She made the announcement at the annual general meeting of the Campbellford Seymour Agricultural Society, much to the delight of the more than 100 plus guests.
Asking for submissions of recipes, she said, "My goal is to have it ready for sale by the chicken barbeque in May and I hope you'll support us by getting a copy or two."
Reviewing last year's successes, Runciman said, "Our homecraft building came alive with the best of home baking, preserves, creative works of art in the photography and hobbies sections, not to mention the masterpieces created in our Junior Division by our junior exhibitors, the future of our fair."
"I challenge you to find a bigger flower display or better show of quilts for miles around," she added.
She talked about the award-winning chili and homemade pies at the ladies food booth
that draws a crowd to the exhibits.
"Fairs began as a place of fellowship, exhibition and trade. They strived to be both educational and entertaining while promoting agriculture," said Runciman.
"And still today, we need to make sure we sustain that mission of promoting agriculture and celebrating our rural heritage, and our homecraft theme of "Traditions" should do just that," she added.
Runciman invited one and all to this year's 158th fair on August 10, 11 and 12, "as we honour the past and embrace the future."
